A Haiku

It’s the 6th post for the 7 days writing challenge. As like the posts before, I took this challenge as my way to learn how to write and enriched the characters in a book I currently write. Today’s topic is : A Haiku about a favorite childhood memory. This is a Haiku by Hugo Novacek, 14, for his school assignment.

Beyond the window
Leaves falls and breeze is colder
Your hug warm us, Mom

Hugo Novacek, class 8-5

Shoes

He keeps running
run, run, run
Where are you going?

I know him years ago.
Someone introduce me to him.
He was so happy.
They were so happy.
His life was here, never dimmed.
Besides, where to go?

Then he starts walking
Walking turns into running
Leaving her.
Leaving them.
"I bring you along", to me he saying.
Lost, but keeps running.
Why?
Where are we going?

He still keeps running
Only stopping
for crying
What's happening?

I'm wearing thin
thank God he's stopping
without the crying
will he again smiling?

Hugo Novacek, 12.

I’m currently writing my first book. Still learning to write, to be honest. This poem is my way to learn how to build a character. So, this is a poem, which was written by one of the character, when he was 12 for his school assignment. He wrote this for his father.

“Love Poem #12”

When I’m with you,
eternity is a step away,
my love continues to grow,
with each passing day.

This treasure of love,
I cherish within my soul,
how much I love you…
you’ll never really know.

You bring a joy to my heart,
I’ve never felt before,
with each touch of your hand,
I love you more and more.

Whenever we say goodbye,
whenever we part,
know I hold you dearly,
deep inside my heart.

So these seven words,
I pray you hold true,
“Forever And Always,
I Will Love You.”

Sweet, isn’t it? 🙂
